With his success he also shares his winning strategy by frequently volunteering his time around various wrestling clubs and schools. Recently Matt took over an AP Practice and shared a great set of his top and pinning combinations. We will be catching up with Matt and he will be giving us an update from Lehigh and telling us about his time there along with his recent signing as a Barstool Athlete. Below is his interview with us.

How have your first months at Lehigh been?

There are a few things like class schedule and learning my way around campus and getting to know my professors and their standards. Its been about 3 months but in that has been a great experience being able to train and challenge myself. Learned how to properly manage my time  was a huge learning curve, but after that that I picked up the swing of things. The academics are demanding but I enjoy the challenge, time management is the key . Im grateful of obtaining my AA while in highschool because it allows me to forego freshman classes which feels like an early boost at an academically demanding university.

How are things on the wrestling end?

Its a dream, I really enjoy being part of the program and grateful to be able to be a a wrestler that people back home can when they watch on a big stage. My goal here is the same, Chasing Title everyday and everything in between. Ultimately, I place everything in Gods hands.

Being in the room scrapping is always fun and learning and coming up with new things. Its cool to hit new moves that capture the attention of the coaches. Im Excited to come back and share what I've he learned. It has also been fun  finding a flow of simplifying and tuning in on details of basics. Its almost a different level, not just new technique but working on all the little details to also make it super clean.

The NCAA Recently updates their regulations, You were actually one of the first athletes that Barstool sports signed. Can you tell us about the experience?

Its huge, im really enjoying the experience to be able to get your name and image out early. I also think it helps increase accountability. Im honored and happy to represent barstool as they are a big brand who have signed other big names in the wrestling space. I am also enjoy growing with other brands such as Raze and its cool that they partnered when they were small so we grow together.

Thank you for your time Matt. We look forward to seeing you again , do you have anything else you would like to put out?

Yes, There's always a learning experience in challenges. Its ok to make mistakes but its about keeping your head up and making the improvements everyday because they add to bigger accomplishment. Ill be back in about 2 months for break, I look forward to seeing everyone and teach new techniques.
